Update on Scarecrow project......

Great News,
There is interest by the fantastic animator
Betsy Dadd, Check out her work to date.

I've got until the end of March to re record the song, this time with the lovely string section ('Elle Bow') that usually grace the stage with Elbow/Snow Patrol, hopefully here in Leeds. I maybe looking for other musicians to play on the album - Drums/bass/double bass/strings/harp/ harmonium/ anything that soothes the soul. Send me some links if you're interested. Check out the songs so far...

Animation Project 2010

Dear all,

This is a shout out to anyone who is or knows people that are up for taking on a project for 2010. I need Animators that are into the style of Raymond Briggs, people that can do Storyboards or sketch or draw with imagination (cos i'm shit). My profile pic will give you an idea of the feel and if you become a fan then please feel free to download the song - 'The Scarecrow'.........

The words are a poem of the same title by a little known WW1 poet called James Lyons. Out of all his poems, this one leapt out to me and now it's my mission to bring it to life.
The vision I have is like i said, Raymond Briggs (The Snowman/When the wind blows) but you never know where things end up!
I've got a rough idea of shots for most of the piece (needs storyboarding) but again open to suggestion.
If you read the poem then you'll see that it'll always be a thing of the present especially with the fighting in Afghanistan, whether fore or against I believe it's still relevant.

Please get in touch if you wanna get involved or know more about it, if things go well, I'd like to do series of them and have my album as a short film so I'd eventually need film editors and such like.

Thanks for reading,

Mat.
